Terry Shaw Sr.

Hey Son,
I'm writing this with a heavy heart tonight. Today, We lost your maternal grandfather. I am so glad that we both had the opportunity to meet him. He was so proud of you. He called you Lennon #17. You see, you were his 17th grandchild. He also kept pictures of you in his phone that he would show the nurses and staff at the hospital.
Here's a little of what I know of him. I hope you will take it upon yourself to find out more, not only about him but all your family history. You have a very rich family background!
Terry Shaw Sr. was born August 18, 1939 in Maine.
He served in The United States Air Force. He had a lot of knowledge of planes and would not hesitate to let you know. He went on to work for IBM a little after he met your Grandmother Josie. He stayed there for many years until retiring in 1999. There is much more to learn and I hope you take the time and care to learn about where you come from.
Love,
Dad
p.s. in the picture above, we are celebrating his 72nd and last birthday just four days after you were born

Welcome Home: First Weekend in NYC
This past weekend was your first few nights at home in New York.
Saturday, You flew from Houston to NYC! Obviously, it was your very first plane ride. I picked you and Mommy up but you slept all the way home.
You talked to your excited Grandad on the phone. I don't know what you said but it was animated! He's going to drive up from Philly to see you any day now. Lots of other friends and family have been calling to make an appointment to see you. I'm sure you'll get around to meeting everyone soon enough.
Right now, It's Monday afternoon and I can't wait to get out of work and come home and horse around with you! We're gonna drive mommy nuts!
