Lennon's first Christmas
Your first christmas was one that I will never forget as long as I live. You spent 2 nights in the hospital
because of Bronchiolitis. It started when you contracted your very first head-cold and it progressed into a nasty cough that frightened your mother and I. We took you
You made a full recovery pretty quickly, my boy! Santa
visited your hospital room and left a few toys while we slept and we spent Christmas day together watching football and Home Alone.
When we got home, Your Grandma Sandi, Aunts Antoinette and Bertha visited you at the house and brought you Christmas presents. Mommy dressed you up in the Santa outfit Grandma Josie brought you. You fell asleep on the couch with Grandma after we opened all your presents! It turned out to be a great Christmas after all!!!

Terry Shaw Sr.

Hey Son,
I'm writing this with a heavy heart tonight. Today, We lost your maternal grandfather. I am so glad that we both had the opportunity to meet him. He was so proud of you. He called you Lennon #17. You see, you were his 17th grandchild. He also kept pictures of you in his phone that he would show the nurses and staff at the hospital.
Here's a little of what I know of him. I hope you will take it upon yourself to find out more, not only about him but all your family history. You have a very rich family background!
Terry Shaw Sr. was born August 18, 1939 in Maine.
He served in The United States Air Force. He had a lot of knowledge of planes and would not hesitate to let you know. He went on to work for IBM a little after he met your Grandmother Josie. He stayed there for many years until retiring in 1999. There is much more to learn and I hope you take the time and care to learn about where you come from.
Love,
Dad
p.s. in the picture above, we are celebrating his 72nd and last birthday just four days after you were born

Settling in...

Hey Lennon,
You are getting settled into your new digs in NYC. You got a brand new crib and we're trying to get you acclimated to having your own room.
You looked really peaceful this morning as I was leaving for work. I wish I didn't have to leave you! would of been fun to stay and play all day. Good thing tomorrow is Saturday! We're gonna watch cartoons!!
